Double Eagle Services was founded in 1984 by owner Mike Nikolas. Double Eagle Services was then known as Double Eagle Auto Recovery and operated in the Black Hills of South Dakota. In 1989 Double Eagle Auto Recovery moved to Omaha, Nebraska and over the years has changed its name from Double Eagle Auto Recovery to Double Eagle Collateral Services and now to Double Eagle Services. Each name change has reflected a change in scope and services offered to our clients.
In the past 25 years that Double Eagle has operated we have conservatively repossessed in excess of 20,000 vehicles and have never been the subject of a wrongful repossession lawsuit.
In the past 25 years I've heard numerous quotes as to what a PROFESSIONAL IS. The most comical example was a fellow repossessor in South Dakota who considered himself professional because he always wore a shirt and tie while in the field. One day on the Rosebud Indian Reservation a female Indian showed him what the tie was good for.
The most common remark is: "I'm a professional, because, I'm bonded and belong to a trade association". Being bonded and belonging to a trade association is a start but does not make one a professional. Professionalism is a designation that is bestowed upon one by one's peer group. It comes about by giving back to the group and industry that you are involved in. Until that time of recognition comes we are all just striving to be professional.
